Huisman Czech Republic Participates to Crane Manufacturing for Europe’s Largest Port in Rotterdam
Sviadnov, 29 May, 2024 – Huisman, a global leader in the development and production of heavy constructions, is entering into the port & logistics market by supplying a series of Automated Stacking Cranes to Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam, one of Europe’s leading container terminal operators. These cranes, designed to handle 4 million cycles over 30 years, will be used for the efficient handling of shipping containers at the port. The Huisman Czech Republic production facility in Sviadnov will be responsible for tasks such as all welding work.
Automated Stacking Cranes ensure a fully automated process for handling and stacking containers. These cranes provide a reliable solution to enhance operational efficiency, which is crucial for the continuous operation at the Port of Rotterdam. Huisman has strategically divided the production of Automated Stacking Cranes among its European facilities. All welding and pre-assembly work will take place at the Huisman Czech Republic facility in Sviadnov. “In previous projects, we have demonstrated that we can handle significant structural challenges here in Sviadnov, so I firmly believe that we will manage this new experience in the port logistics sector, which has great potential for the future,” said Karel Pavlíček, Managing Director of Huisman Czech Republic.
The final assembly of the cranes will take place in Schiedam, Netherlands, with assembly and testing conducted directly at the ECT Delta terminal in Rotterdam. The diversification into port equipment automation underscores Huisman’s commitment to providing top-notch solutions across various industries, leveraging its technical and manufacturing expertise.
